SR&ED
(Research & Development)
We offer a
very competitive fee structure down
to 15% with our sliding scale structure.
SR&ED is a highly specialized, technical area of refund opportunity. Many
companies are unaware that they could qualify for this type of refund
because they do not feel that they are doing any type of SR&ED. Our experience
has shown us that as long as the company has undertaken to develop a new
product, product/improvement, new or innovative concept or development
and improvement of in-house production equipment there is an excellent
chance of the SR&ED claim being successful. The project has to have specific
objectives and to have been done in an uncertain environment. i.e. while
doing the work the research team is never sure that it is going to be
successful. This uncertainty element is important. Bottom line is that
if you feel that there is a remote chance of your firm having done any
kind of new research or development then call us. We can identify a potential
SR&ED claim very quickly. It doesn’t cost you anything to find out. But
it will cost you significantly if you have SR&ED and don’t file. Your
competitors are filing claims. You put yourself at a distinct disadvantage
if you miss this opportunity.
We have found that as long as the company is doing SR&ED and the Government
requirements are being met regarding proper paperwork and deadlines Canada
Revenue Agency is being quite lenient in approving first time claimants.
Do not worry about having to come up with intricate overhead calculations
etc. CRA has a quick and ready formula to calculate this. Labour hours
spent on SR&ED work can be readily computed. We have not yet been unsuccessful
regarding any first time claimants for whom we have filed. Once we identify
that there is SR&ED potential we have the expertise to put together the
required paperwork in the format and presentation required by CRA. Of
course Canada Revenue Agency is more stringent in reviewing second time
claimants but our expertise ensures that your claim has the best possible
chance of being approved no matter how many times you have previously
filed..
We work with you in identifying your project so that we can prepare the
written report. We compile and file the claim and provide ongoing support
throughout the Government refund process.
Procrastination in this area could cost you thousands of dollars. Do not
miss out because of missed deadlines. Remember you have 18 months after
your corporate year end to file the claim i.e. 12 months after the filing
deadline of your year end. Once you miss a deadline it becomes too late.
Please contact us if you have the slightest inkling that you qualify for
SR&ED. You will not be sorry you did.
